It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Telisha Fachel Anderson, who departed this world on December 11, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on August 2, 1991, Telisha was a shining star whose vibrancy touched the lives of many.
Telisha enjoyed life in simple but profoundly meaningful ways. Her passion for basketball transcended the confines of the court; it became a bridge that connected her to people everywhere she went. Through this beloved sport, she forged lifelong friendships, built a strong community, and inspired countless lives. Those who had the privilege to witness her on the court will forever remember her energy, warmth, and unwavering love for the game, which fostered connections and encouragement amongst her peers and teammates.
Education played a pivotal role in Telisha's journey. She was educated in the Hinds County public school districts, attending Bolton-Edwards Elementary and Raymond High School, before ultimately graduating from Magnolia High School in California in 2009. A proud graduate, she went on to earn a full scholarship to Santa Clara University, where she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Her academic achievements were a testament to her determination and intellect, traits that will continue to inspire those who followed her path.
Telisha Fachel Anderson leaves to cherish her memories her wife, Christina Chandler, and Kaila Mixon of Oakland, California. She is survived by her loving parents, Tina Fachel Brookshire and Kenneth Brookshire, Sr. of Huntington Beach, California, as well as Roderick Boyd Anderson, Jr. and Kelly Anderson, also of Huntington Beach. Her legacy continues through her two sisters, Destinge Holmes and Chad of Jackson, Mississippi, and Jaiden Anderson of Huntington Beach; three brothers, Kenneth Brookshire, Jr. and Charlotte of Jackson, Mississippi, Cameron Brookshire of Edwards, Mississippi, and Roderick Anderson III of Huntington Beach. She was blessed with the love of three grandmothers: Zelma McPhearson of Edwards, Mississippi, Emma Ford of Baltimore, Maryland, and Bettie McPhearson and James of Jackson, Mississippi. Her family also includes one aunt, Shannon Watson and Daniel of Baltimore, Maryland; three uncles, James McPhearson of Norfolk, Virginia, Undrea Morris of Jackson, Mississippi, and Christopher Morris and Cherry of Jackson, Mississippi; and numerous cousins who looked up to her, including Gregory, Shakeita, Karlandos, Barbara, LaVonche, Sharnicea, Khalil, Tonya, Joshua, Jay, Jada, Kabria, Karlandria, and Karlandos Jr. Among her special cousins was Golie Jr., who held a cherished place in her heart.
