Silvester Gaston, a beloved individual known for his hardworking spirit and devotion to family, passed away on December 10, 2025, just four days shy of his 64th birthday. Born on December 14, 1961, Silvester's enduring legacy will be cherished by his wife, Glenn Gaston, along with his children: sons KaWayne Gaston, Glenn Q. Gaston, Nathaniel Graham, Silvester Howard, and DeArchie Jones, and daughters Shameka Thomas, Essence Gaston, and ShaTasha Williams. Their lives have been deeply enriched by Silvester’s unwavering love and support.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, sisters Maulee Seals, Joyce Richardson (Leon), and Delores Evans (Grover), and brothers James Earl Brown (Juanita), Isiah Moore, and Varis Brown (Linda). Silvester was a treasured uncle and a friend to many, including his dear Aunt Helen Marie Jackson and close friends Ray and Val Atwood.
Silvester received his education from the Hinds County Public School District, followed by Hinds Community College, which paved the way for a life defined by diligence and commitment to his work and family. He was an exemplary husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the hearts of those around him.
Silvester is predeceased by his parents Willie O. Gaston and Lutisha Brown Ringo, as well as his brothers Willie T. Moore, Archie Lee Hamilton, Leroy Crum, Augusta Brown, and Jerry Brown. Their love and memories remain with him, shaping the values he carried throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, MS, on December 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church in Vicksburg, MS, on December 20, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM, concluding at 3:00 PM.
Silvester Gaston will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His spirit and dedication will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
