Sandra Williams, a beloved pillar of her community and a dedicated healthcare professional, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. Born on December 29, 1955, Sandra’s life was marked by unwavering commitment to her faith, family, and career, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Sandra’s professional journey spanned over 30 years in healthcare, during which she served with distinction at several esteemed institutions including Vicksburg Hospital, Mercy Hospital, River Region Hospital, and Promise Hospital. Her compassionate approach and steadfast dedication greatly contributed to the wellbeing of countless patients and colleagues alike.
From an early age, Sandra embraced the teachings of Christ, accepting Him at Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, inspiring her deep involvement in her community. She was an active member and Secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary at Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, where she invested her time and energy in service and fellowship.
Sandra’s devotion extended beyond her professional and spiritual commitments into her family life. She is survived by her loving husband, Dave Williams, who shared a partnership grounded in mutual respect and affection. Together, they raised a cherished family that includes her daughter Terri Boutte (William) of Houston, TX, her son Eric Brown of San Diego, CA, and her stepson Corey Burns of Biloxi, MS. Sandra’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jamison Porche of Houston, TX, Joi Brown of Vicksburg, MS, and Lauren Brown of San Diego, CA.
Her close-knit family also includes six devoted sisters: Patricia Gilmore (Johnny) of Jackson, MS; Shirley Swartz (Earl) of Vicksburg, MS; Lucy Jones (Douglas) of Columbus, GA; Brenda Reed (Michael) of Vicksburg, MS; Penny Woodberry (Pete) of Raymond, MS; and Susan Neal (Michael) of Cordova, TN. Two brothers survive her as well: Donald Garrett (Coneria) of Vicksburg, MS, and Alvin Garrett of Edwardsville, IL. Additionally, her aunt Levertia Harris of Chicago, IL remains a cherished family member.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Garrett Jefferson; stepfather, Joseph Jefferson, Jr.; brother, David Garrett; niece, Yolanda Taylor; and mother-in-law, Emma Williams. Their memories live on in the hearts of her family and all who were privileged to know her.
A visitation to honor Sandra’s memory will be held on March 27, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. The celebration of life service will follow on March 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Sandra Williams’s life was one of heartfelt service and profound faith. She enriched her community, her workplace, and her family with grace, strength, and compassion. Her legacy endures in the love and memories she leaves behind.
