Ronald Davis, a man whose presence illuminated every room he entered, departed this life on March 29, 2026, leaving behind an indelible legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love. Born on September 4, 1960, Ronald's journey began within the nurturing embrace of the Vicksburg Public School System, where the foundations of his generous spirit and vibrant personality were first laid.
For many years, Ronald dedicated himself as a custodian at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home, a role he fulfilled with diligence and care until illness curtailed his service. In this humble vocation, he found purpose and community, touching the lives of countless residents and colleagues alike—a testament to a soul who never met a stranger and who welcomed all with warmth and good humor.
Ronald’s life was characterized by a radiant generosity that knew no bounds. His laughter and kind spirit remain imprinted in the hearts of those privileged to know him, a truly comical soul whose love was steadfast and boundless. Such was his nature, that his very spirit was a beacon of joy and comfort in times of trial.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Lula Mae McDaniel, who stood faithfully by his side; his devoted sons Anthony Lane (Tracey), Ronald Lane (Tisha), Travis Lane (Danielle Williams), and Roderick Lane (Stacey Carter); and Veronica Lane, the cherished mother of his children. Ronald's familial love extended gracefully to his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy with pride and affection. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his sisters Tejeria Williams (Jerry) and Linda Fletcher (Freddie), as well as his brothers Don Roy Tillman (Eunice) and Timothy Tillman, who remain pillars of strength and kinship in this time of mourning.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father Vollie Davis, mother Mary L. Davis, and wife Dinah Allen Davis. He also joins in rest those dear departed souls: Rosie Lee Tillman, Lillie Bell Smith, Oas Watson, Patricia A. Tillman, Lillie Ruth Harvey, Loye Tillman, Joseph Tillman and Tamothy Tillman, whose memories continue to intertwine with his own.
A viewing to honor Ronald Davis will be held on April 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi, 39180. His memorial service will follow on April 5, 2026, commencing at 1:30 PM, also at the mortuary.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Ronald Davis, we remember not merely a custodian by profession, but a custodian of hearts—a man whose spirit was generous to a fault, whose love never wavered, and whose comic light will forever brighten the tapestry of our lives. In his memory, may we strive to emulate the kindness and joy that he so effortlessly bestowed upon the world.
