Patricia Gaskin Thomas, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, departed this earthly realm on November 5, 2025, at the age of seventy-five. Born on October 1, 1950, Patricia made her indelible mark upon this world, embarking on a life journey defined by unwavering dedication and an infectious warmth that embraced everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her academic pursuits began at Rosa A. Temple High School, from which she proudly graduated in 1968, followed by her attendance at Jackson State University, where she completed her studies in 1972. Patricia’s commitment to excellence did not fade with her education; it instead flourished as she embarked on a distinguished career as an IRS auditor, a role that she fulfilled with diligence and integrity until her well-deserved retirement.

Though Patricia's demeanor was often reserved, her warm heart and gentle spirit radiated kindness and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Her personality was an inviting tapestry woven with the threads of compassion and strength, showcasing her ability to navigate life's challenges with grace.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia found joy in a spectrum of hobbies and interests. She cherished the thrill of softball, engaged in the strategic complexities of chess, and delighted in the camaraderie of playing Bid Whisk. Central to her existence was her unwavering faith, which anchored her spirit and guided her through life’s winding paths.

Patricia's legacy will be carried forward by her loving family. She is survived by her cherished mother, Ernestine Gaskin Boone; her devoted sister, Charity Lee Boone Smith; her adoring daughter, Charity LaVerne Thomas; and her beloved grandson, Craig Lewis Thomas. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of cousins who will forever treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by, Troy Boone, whose absence she felt deeply. Their bond, though interrupted by time and transcendence, remains eternally etched in the hearts of those who knew them.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on November 15, 2025, at New Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects beginning at 11:00 AM, as they gather to honor a woman whose life was a testament to love, perseverance, and the profound impact one person can make on the lives of many.

Patricia Gaskin Thomas will be remembered not only for the roles she embraced but also for the light she brought into the world around her. Her memory will forever inspire those she leaves behind to carry on her legacy of compassion and resilience.
