Minister Rodia Watts Sisney was the fourth of nine children born to the late Ambus and Emma Watts Wallace on January 29, 1946. She peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on October 16, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Rodia was a devoted and compassionate woman whose life reflected love, faith, and service. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched the lives of many.
She received her education in the Vicksburg Public School System and graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School as a member of the Class of 1964. Rodia was employed at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station, where she faithfully served for many years. Following 25 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2008.
At an early age, Rodia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Her unwavering faith remained the foundation of her life and inspired her commitment to serving God and helping others. As a minister, she faithfully shared God's love and sought to encourage those around her through her Christian walk.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her two daughters, Calandra Sisney and Adrianne Sisney; brother, James Walter Knox (Frankie); sisters, Vivian McNeil (Boyd), Gloria Wallace, and JoAnn Wallace; and brother-in-law, Eugene Mallett.
She also leaves behind sixteen beloved grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Among those who held a special place in her heart were Patricia Mayfield and Kimberly Bolls, along with many other cherished loved ones and friends.
Although her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was a testament to God's grace, and her memory will forever be treasured.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
