Maggie Dell Cook

Maggie Dell Cook, a devoted servant of God, gifted musician, and cherished matriarch, peacefully departed this earthly life on August 4, 2026. Her legacy of faith, music, perseverance, and family endures as a testament to her remarkable life.

Born on September 15, 1935, in rural Hinds County, Mississippi, Maggie's life was shaped by her profound love for the Lord and her extraordinary, innate musical talent. She embraced her faith early, joining Belmont Missionary Baptist Church, where her lifelong journey of service began.

Maggie joins in eternal rest her mother, Cleo Eatmon; stepfather, Robert Eatmon; five brothers; Walter L. Carson, James Raymond Carson, Louis Carson, Jonathan Carson, and Edmond Carson; and three sisters, Jeanette Kelley, Mae Francis Brown, and Wilena Huband; three beloved children: William Cook Jr., Walter Cook, and Shirlena Lambert.

 She leaves cherished memories with her surviving family: sons Rev. Dr. Andrew Cook (Dr. Valtreasa Tolliver-Cook) and Robert Earl Cook (Constance); daughter Dr. Mary Cook-Edwardson; and two sisters, Zeanette Eatmon and Mary Louise Eatmon. Her legacy continues through her 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a God-granddaughter.
