Linda Ann Blackmore, born on September 18, 1960, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. Her radiant spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Linda lived life with energy, laughter, and a joyful spirit, cherishing time spent with her loved ones.
A proud veteran, Linda served her country honorably in the United States Army Reserve. Her dedication extended beyond her military service, as she constantly showcased her natural athleticism in various forms. A graduate of Vicksburg High School, Linda excelled as a track athlete and continued her education at Hinds Junior College. Amongst her many interests, she relished playing softball, dancing, fishing, and shooting pool. She was also renowned among family and friends as an exceptional cook.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Kimberly Smith of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Cameron and Nyiah Smith of Austin, Texas; sisters, Minister Shirley Purvis (Willie) of Yazoo City, Mississippi, and Mary Bowman of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Additionally, she is survived by nieces Trina Lassiter and Airrica Bowman; nephews Airrion Galloway and Airrinton Bowman, all from Vicksburg, Mississippi; goddaughter, Charity Carr of Vicksburg, Mississippi; devoted family friend William Robinson; as well as a host of friends and relatives from the Chiles and Blackmore families.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Leon W. Blackmore and Rosie B. Blackmore, as well as her maternal grandparents, Reverend Jeff and Annie Bell Evans; her paternal grandmother, Josephine Brown; and her aunt, Annie B. Chiles.
In celebration of Linda's life, a visitation will be held on December 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day on December 7, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM , also at C J Williams Mortuary Center.
Linda Ann Blackmore’s legacy will live on through her family and friends, who will forever remember her joyful spirit and the love she shared so generously with those around her.
