Larry Williams, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on February 22, 1959, in Learned, MS. His journey through life came to a close on May 9, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, determination, and hard work.
Larry dedicated 15 years of his professional life to the trucking industry and later retired from Larry Reed Construction, where he was well-respected for his commitment and work ethic. His contributions to his community and profession were marked by a sense of pride and accomplishment.
He was educated at Welcome Elementary School and Hinds Agriculture High School in Utica, MS. These formative years laid the foundation for a life characterized by perseverance and resilience.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories his two children, daughter Ashley Williams and son Eric Williams, both of Jackson, MS. He was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Javion D. Williamson and Janiyah Williams. Larry is also survived by his loving siblings: four brothers, James E. Williams (Jackie) of Jackson, MS, Carl Williams and Pastor Michael T. Williams (Monya) of Vicksburg, MS, and L. J. Thompson of Forest, MS; and seven sisters, Gloria Jean Williams Branson, Barbara Williams, Alice Williams, Felicia Williams, Lisa Williams Carson (Louis) of Vicksburg, MS, Glenda Atlas (Michael) of Port Gibson, MS, and Latasha Williams Burden (Channing) of Clinton, MS. Additionally, he is survived by two uncles, Robert Williams of Jackson, MS, and Patrick Williams of Ohio; and two aunts, Ida Mae Williams of Jackson, MS, and Mary B. Hooper of Chicago.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, McKinley Williams and Matilda Williams, as well as brothers Henry Williams, William Williams, and L. J. Williams. He also mourned the loss of his sister, Hazel Thompson.
The visitation for Larry Williams will be held on May 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS. The Celebration of Life will follow on May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM , also at the same location.
Larry's kind spirit and enduring legacy will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love he shared and the lives he touched.
