Larry Lavesta Mosley, Jr.

Larry Lavesta Mosley, Jr., affectionately known as “Lit Larry,” was born on November 19, 2002, and departed this earthly realm on May 3, 2025. He is remembered as a soul full of light—happy, energetic, and solid—a beacon of positivity that illuminated the lives of all who knew him.

Larry was an honors graduate from Raymond High School, class of 2021, and furthered his education by earning an Associate's degree in electrical wiring from Hinds Community College in 2022. His thirst for knowledge and ambition led him to embark on a professional journey as an intern that transitioned into employment with Tyson’s Food. In his chosen career, he demonstrated a diligent work ethic and an unwavering commitment to excellence, traits that endeared him to colleagues and supervisors alike.

As a cherished member of his family, Larry’s proudest accomplishment was being the perfect big brother. He is survived by his loving parents, Larry Sr. (Pops) and LaKisha Mosley, and his siblings—Anaycia (Isareal) Koenig, Brenija Kidd, Lance (BigBoy), and Landen (Baebae) Mosley—who will deeply miss his guidance and steadfast support. His two children, Lauryn Denise Mosley, whose mother is Vanessa Parker (Bug), and Carter Amad Mosley, whose mother is D'Sha Herrington, were the loves of his life; he embraced fatherhood with a heart full of affection.

Larry’s vibrant presence extended into his friendships and extended family. He held a special bond with his godbrother, Aldolphis Butler, Jr., and was embraced by his devoted godmother, Rashandra Laws. His legacy also thrives through the wisdom and support of his grandparents, Corine Richards, Wesley Martin, Barbara Mosley, and Larry Moss. The tapestry of his family includes an extensive network of aunts—Shelia (Steve) Tyler, Cindy Thomas, Artie, Cassandra, Demetrice Mosley, Tonisha (Gerald) Jones, Tenika, and Angelette (TNae) McPherson, Tesia (Larry) Bennett, Monique (Kenneth) Turner, Melva Burks, Nikki (Courtney) Gilmer, Shelita Brown, and Tina (Rodrick) Banks—as well as uncles Frederick and Marvin Richards, Cedric (Twinnie) Martin, Christian Martin, Keith and Glenn Mosley, Reginald Turner, and Marcus Horton. Together, they lovingly encompass a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, who will carry forth Larry’s spirit in their hearts.

The world has lost a remarkable young man, but his legacy will endure. A visitation to celebrate his life will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on May 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at New Oak Ridge M.B. Church in Edwards, Mississippi, on May 17, 2025, commencing at 11:00 AM. As we gather to honor Larry, let us cherish the memories of his laughter, his love, and the indelible mark he leaves on our hearts.
