Josephine Pearson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 27, 2025, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories that reflect her love and devotion to her family. Born on September 24, 1964, Josephine exemplified warmth, kindness, and resilience, traits that were evident in every aspect of her life.
As a dedicated stay-at-home mother, Josephine thrived in the simple joys of daily life. She found her greatest happiness in cooking aromatic meals for her family and in creating cherished moments by spending quality time with her loved ones. Her passion for fishing brought joy not only to her but also to those who shared the experience with her, as they enjoyed sunlit afternoons by the water’s edge, reveling in laughter and stories that would be told and retold around the dinner table.
Josephine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawyer W. Pearson; She is also reunited with her sisters, Ester Dubbs-Regans, Judy Mae White, and Vera White. Their spirits join hers in a serene embrace, united once more.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Vera White; three loving children, Joshua Pearson (LaShanyna), Sarah Pearson Davis (Tim), and Walteria Hardy; and a blessed legacy of twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit within them. She was the treasured sister to five siblings: Geneva Moore, Bobbie Moore, Mae Miller (James) of Arlington, Texas, Linda Moore, and Rosie Walton of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and was also survived by two brothers, Fred Moore and McAuthur White. Additionally, Josephine is remembered by one aunt, Lizz Hudson of Jackson, Mississippi, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends whose lives she touched with her gentle heart.
Josephine will be profoundly missed by all who knew her but her legacy endures in the warmth of family gatherings, the aroma of home-cooked meals, and the laughter echoing across sunlit afternoons. Each story retold, every shared recipe, and the simple act of coming together serve as gentle reminders of the love and resilience she gifted to those she held dear.
A visitation will be held in her honor on August 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi.
