Jacqueline Lee Fields, affectionately known as Jackie, was born on July 1, 1957, and departed from this world on July 22, 2025. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, service, and a passion for connection. Jackie began her professional journey at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Vicksburg District, where she demonstrated her commitment to public service before embarking on a successful career with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Charlotte, NC. She later returned to Mississippi and continued her esteemed service in Jackson, MS. Following her tenure with the Corps of Engineers, Jackie transitioned into a career in sales, lending her talents to renowned establishments such as McRae’s, Dillard’s, and Marcus Furniture.

An esteemed graduate of the Vicksburg High School class of 1977, Jackie proudly served as the Treasurer and Vice President of the Future Business Leaders of America. Her academic journey also included attendance at Hinds Community College, where she furthered her education and laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.

Jackie's warmth and vivacity encompassed her personal life, wherein she cherished her family and friends. Her heart swelled with joy as she gathered her beloved nieces to indulge in enchanting tea parties, draped in lovely dresses that ignited the imagination. Her interests extended to fashion, home decorating, and nurturing children, while social engagements reinvigorated her spirit.

Left to carry forth her cherished memories are her devoted husband, Grant Fields, Jr.; her sons, Quinton (Tonya) Fields of Pearl, MS, and Brandon Fields of Vicksburg, MS; her brothers, Tommy (Verna) Whitaker of Killeen, TX, and James Lee of Vicksburg, MS; and her sisters, Agnes “Marie” Drake of Kenosha, WI, and Edna (Roy) Lee-Jackson and Ethel (Edwin) Cook, both of Vicksburg, MS. Jackie is also survived by her mother-in-law, Gloria (Jimmy) Norals, and sister-in-law, Kim Fields, both of Port Gibson, MS; brother-in-law Warren Kent Fields of Metairie, LA; and sister-in-law Tamika (Charles) Cotton of Stockbridge, GA. She is lovingly remembered by her nieces, including Toni Drake, Cherrisse Whitaker, Nyree Cleveland, Maria Fields, Devona Jackson, Roya Jackson, and Sierra Lee, alongside her many nephews, encompassing Darren Byrd, Omar Cleveland, LeeAnthony Drake, Roderick Drake, Gerald White, Darnell, Justin, Brian, and Jeremy Johnson, as well as Warren, Jr., Jordan Fields, Michael “Mike” Brown, Jr., and Shcobey “Bear” Harris, alongside a host of additional neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Jackie in death are her beloved parents and grandparents, Austin and Patsy Whitaker, as well as her father-in-law, Grant Fields, Sr.; mother-in-law, Mattie Sims; a sister, Bessie Lee; a brother, Robert Lee; sister-in-law Maxine White; and her cherished nephews, Keilyn Cessna and Edward Wilbert.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jackie's remarkable life during the visitation held on August 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. A heartfelt Celebration of Life will follow on August 2, 2025, commencing at 11:00 AM , at the same location.
