Freddie Smith

Freddie Smith, born on July 24, 1938, left this world peacefully on May 7, 2025. Her passing marks the end of a life lovingly lived and cherished by many. Freddie held a deep faith, having accepted Christ at an early age. This faith guided her throughout her life, instilling in her family the values of love, compassion, and community.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Two daughters Dianne Turner (Melvin) and Carolyn Jackson ( the late Arthur Jackson) both of Vicksburg, MS. One son Ceaser Wade Smith Jr. (Holly) of Houston, Texas. Three granddaughters April Smith, LaSondra Turner both of Vicksburg, MS, Courtney Alexander ( Travis)of North Carolina. Nine grandsons Jason Turner (Tamla), Markeem Bright, Tobias Jackson, all in Vicksburg, MS, Aaron Smith of Austin, Texas, Stephen Smith of Houston, Texas, Arthur Jackson Jr. (Victoria) and Tony Jackson both of Fayette, MS, Justin Jackson(Shakeitha) and Jarvis Jackson(Sally) both of Dallas, Texas. Thirteen great grands: JaVanna Price, KeShon Price , Markeem Bright Jr, JaDon Turner, Brooklyn Turner, Bailee Turner, Blake Turner all of Vicksburg, MS. Jaylon Smith and Brianna Smith both of Houston, Texas. Ayden Clax, Adonis Smith and Abigail Alexander all of North Carolina. Alexis Jackson of Fayette, MS. Two great great grandkids, Nuriah Price of Vicksburg, MS and Novah Jackson of Fayette, MS. A nephew Christopher Spellman of Vicksburg, MS and a nephew/ son Michael Dottorey (Diane) of Senatobia, MS. Special niece/ daughter Mary Dottorey of Jackson, MS. Two great nieces Shelia Dottorey and Jazmen Brown both of Jackson, MS. Two great great nieces Trinity Brown and Raylen Thomas of Jackson, MS, ( Bonus Daughter) Debra Goodman of Vicksburg, MS, and Stacy Sanders of Fayette, MS, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by Geneva Spellman ( mother), Sam Turner(father), Clemont Spellman( grandmother). Lola Dottorey (sister), Charles Spellman ( brother), Anthony Smith (son), and Preston Wilson ( great grandson). Their spirits will surely greet her with open arms.

The family will gather to celebrate Freddie's remarkable life with a visitation on May 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The celebration of her life will take place the following day, May 17, 2025, at King David No. 1 Baptist Church, starting at 2:30 PM and concluding at 3:30 PM.

Freddie Smith will be fondly remembered for her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and her profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
