Booker T. Larry, a man whose steadfast dedication and warm spirit touched all who knew him, passed away on April 10, 2026. Born on September 11, 1957, his life was one marked by commitment, service, and the embrace of simple yet profound joys.
A proud graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School in the class of 1975, Booker’s early years were defined by a strong work ethic and an unwavering sense of duty. This sense of duty extended beyond civilian life into his honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces from October 3, 1974, to June 9, 1977. Following his military tenure, Booker dedicated many years of his life to the Waterways Experiment Station and later to Batesville Casket, where his diligence and dedication were evident until his retirement.
Booker’s personal life was deeply enriched by his beloved late wife, Linda Larry, with whom he shared a wealth of experiences traveling the world. The memories they crafted together remain treasures held dearly by his family, a testament to the vibrant and loving partnership they shared.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Linda Larry; his parents, Louis and Geraldine Larry; as well as his brothers, William Chyran Larry, Jimmie Larry, and Douglas Thomas. Their memories and legacy live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Booker leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His daughters, Bianca Larry, Jeanette Bass, Avis (Jason) Grant, and LaDora Bass, continue his legacy of love and strength. He was a proud grandfather to Taliaferro Bass, KaMaya Evans, Aayana Walker, Javarian Bass, Heaven Judge, and Maison Larry, and he rejoices in the presence of his great-grandchildren. Booker’s familial circle also lovingly includes his brother, Calvin “Skip” Gaskin, and his sisters, Bettie White, Laura Larry, and Patsy Larry, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and cherished friends who held him in the highest regard.
To celebrate the life of Booker T. Larry, a visitation will be held on April 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. This gathering offers a time for all who knew him to reflect, remember, and honor a life well lived.
In remembering Booker, one recalls not only a hardworking and steadfast individual but also a man who found profound joy in the company of loved ones and the beauty of the world around him. His legacy endures through the lives he touched and the enduring memories he leaves behind.
