Beadie Thompson Ridley

Beadie Thompson Ridley, born on November 23, 1922, in Stampley, Mississippi, passed away on April 24, 2025, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She leaves behind a legacy rich with love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

For over thirty-three years, Beadie built a meaningful career in the custodial services profession, proudly serving the Warren County School District at Warren Central High School. Prior to this, she lent her hard work and spirit as a laborer with Bill Moss Processing Plant while in Muskegon, Michigan. Her steadfast commitment and reliability were testaments to her incredible work ethic.

Beadie was known for her radiant personality that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. She adored her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her warm heart extended beyond her family; she found joy in her church family, friends, and the broader community. Always ready to lend a helping hand, she expected nothing in return for her kindness. Beadie delighted in cooking for loved ones, tending to her garden, and caring for her beloved cats, which brought her great joy.

Her faith was Beadie’s guiding light throughout her life. With a strong and unwavering belief, she held dear her favorite scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 resonated deeply with her, providing comfort and direction on her journey.

To cherish her memories are her son, Julius Ridley, Jr., of Muskegon Heights, Michigan; grandchildren Paula Cole of Glenn Heights, Texas, Felecia Brown of Dallas, Texas, Darrell (Wendie) Ridley of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Julia Ridley and Sedric (Annette) Ridley of Royse City, Texas, and Julio Ridley of Muskegon Heights, Michigan; one adopted special grandson and caregiver, C.J. Williams, of Vicksburg, Mississippi; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a devoted daughter-in-law, Addie Ridley; and several dear friends, including Shirley Wilson, Ruth Williams, and Coach Lucy Young, along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Beadie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Willie Costley; her beloved companion, Robert Hunt; and her grandson, Fredrick Brown. Each of these losses left an imprint on her heart, yet through it all, her resilience and faith remained steadfast.
