Annie Lee McDowell Banks, aged 82, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on February 9, 1944, in Delhi, Louisiana, she later made her home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she was a cherished member of her community.
Annie was a devoted housekeeper by profession and known for her unwavering dedication and care. A faithful Baptist, her spirituality was a cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in sewing and immersing herself in puzzle books, activities that reflected her thoughtful and meticulous nature. Above all, Annie’s deepest passion was her unconditional love for her children, for whom she would do anything. Her selfless spirit and nurturing character left a profound impact on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alvin McDowell, Sr. and Beulah McDowell; her loving husband, Pam Banks; five brothers, Andrew McDowell, M.C. McDowell, Kennen McDowell, Alvin McDowell, Jr., and Aaron McDowell; and three sisters, Doris McDowell, Effie Leggins, and Dora McCaleb.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory five devoted children: Kalvin Banks and Pamela Banks of Tallulah, Louisiana; Stacey Banks of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Natasha (Greg) Mouton of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; and Mitzi Banks (Jake Rush) of Thomastown, Louisiana. She also leaves three loving sisters: Exxiev McDowell and Lois McDowell of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Velsie Wiley of Las Vegas, Nevada; as well as one brother, Henry McDowell of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her legacy continues through six grandchildren—Kalvin (Jimmie) Hardy, Dejuan Banks, Joseph Bell, Jr., Omarion Bell, Miyah Mouton, and Kitana Green—and four great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who treasured her presence in their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi, 39180. This gathering will honor Annie’s remarkable life and provide a time for family and friends to come together and reflect on the enduring love and warmth she bestowed upon them.
Annie Lee Banks will be remembered as a loving mother, a committed sister, and a steadfast friend who touched many lives with her kindness, resilience, and generous heart. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
