Alice Lee Brown Moore

Alice Lee Brown Moore, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her family, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 26, 1939, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, she embraced her faith at an early age, accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Olive #2 Church.

Alice's life journey took her from her roots in Vicksburg to the vibrant community of Detroit, Michigan, where she became a devoted homemaker. She was deeply committed to caring for her children, grandchildren, and any relative or close friend who needed a place to stay. Alice found her greatest joy when surrounded by those she loved, radiating warmth and kindness to all who entered her life.

She leaves behind a loving family, including three daughters: Carolyn Brown-Polk and Rubye Brown of Vicksburg, MS, and Linda Moore of Detroit, MI. Her legacy also includes four sons: Henry Anderson of Los Angeles, CA; John Brown of Vicksburg, MS; and Alvin Moore and Reginald Moore, both of Detroit, MI. Additionally, Alice is survived by 29 grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will continue to honor her memory.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Moore, and several beloved family members, including her sons: Joe Moore, David Brown, and Trevor 'Dwayne' Moore; daughters: Brenda Brown Wallace and Denise Moore; as well as her siblings—sisters Gloriastine Brown, Rosemary Brown, and Catherine Brown; brothers William Foster and Major General John Mitchell Brown. The loss of her grandchildren, David Brown, Jr., Deshawn Brown, Alicia Gray-Moore, and Eric Laureano, adds to the profound sadness of her passing.

Alice's funeral service will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, MS, on March 15, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM.
