Aaron Lamart Green, born on November 3, 1957, graced this world with his presence until his passing on April 26, 2025. His journey through life was one steeped in dedication, compassion, and an unwavering love for music, which deeply resonated within the souls of all who knew him.
In Detroit, Aaron committed many years to his career at a funeral home, a profession that spoke to his profound sense of care and respect for others. His empathy and diligence shone brightly during this time, preparing him for the transitions that life inevitably brings. Following his tenure at the funeral home, he transitioned into the field of security, where he continued to demonstrate his protective nature until his well-deserved retirement in 2016.
Post-retirement, Aaron embraced his true passion: music. Music had always been a vital part of Aaron's existence, and it was through his soulful voice that he discovered a new community, pouring his heart into every performance alongside Fred Hall's group. It was during these moments that he found immense joy, weaving stories and emotions into the very fabric of his performances, leaving an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to witness his talent.
Aaron’s life was a beautiful symphony of hard work, faith, love, and music—a melody that touched the hearts of many and will forever echo in the memories of those he loved. He is survived by his devoted wife, Paula Green; his cherished son, Edmond Monroe; and his beloved mother, Hazel Caldwell. Additionally, he leaves behind stepsons, James Williams and Paul Williams (Trina); stepdaughter, Shantell Williams; and his supportive siblings: sisters Pamela Hardge, Mary Panky, Rosalin Gates, and Rochelle Stieler; brothers Ronald Caldwell, Ellis Brown, Michael Green, and Danny Green; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom cherished him dearly.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Steve Washington; his bonus mom, Mamie Bradford; and his sisters Beverly Prentiss, Mary Washington, Martha Washington, and Getarn Green. Each of these individuals played a significant role in shaping the life of a man who brought comfort, soul, and melody to the lives he touched.
His legacy will continue to resonate throughout Vicksburg, Mississippi, where family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate his life. Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center on May 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will follow at Holly Grove M. B. Church on May 4, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, culminating in a heartfelt remembrance at 2:30 PM.
Aaron Lamart Green's journey was a testament to the profound impact that one individual can have on numerous lives, leaving behind a legacy rich in love and harmony, eternally cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
